Flood Update

Dear Jude and family,
Thanks so much for praying. I felt a change in my attitude even before the water went down 8 inches! (even with all the snow.) God has been good, and the ice before the snow has not taken out the electricity. There will probably be no boating today, and they are stuck there. That would mean Les will miss his treatment, but he did get it in yesterday, and he has only 4 days left, so with God's help, the rocefin (my apologies for spelling to the medical among you) will have done it's job. His heart rate is doing well. If the water is down enough and the snow abates before dark, they may be able to take the payloader in from the lumber yard. We have no idea what has happened there. Pray that God prepares us for that as well!
Praise for the blessing of safe travel here for the kids, that Kathleen was in Turtle Lake, and able to stay, that there is electricity, and mostly, that everyone is safe.
Please pray that we will make wise decisions to keep everyone safe, and that they will be able to safely turn the furnace back on. There are a couple of space heaters, but not in the basement where they are working. Of course, please pray that the water continues to recede.
Our Sunday school lesson on Sunday was from Joshua, where God held back the waters of the Jordan River during its flood stage so that the ark of the covenant and the Children of Isreal could cross into the promised land. Joshua 4:25 "He did this so that all the people of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God" We cling to that powerful hand, and ask him to hold the water back.
love and gratitude

I got to talk to my dad on Tuesday morning, and he said there was 8" of water in the garage (16" in '97), about 3" in my room, and the rest of the basement floor was wet. They'll have to tear out the flooring and cut the bottom 3-4" of baseboard/sheetrock off and redo that, but hopefully that's it. He hasn't had fevers for the past 3 days, and the water was 3" from the top of the sandbags. Praise the Lord! My dad said if it had gone over it would've been a lost cause. The car is fine, and the water has receded so that it's only half-way up our driveway now. And the lumberyard is fine....wet, I'm sure, but my dad has been there to get clean-up supplies (he got through the flooded streets with the payloader), and he's not worried. I had seen pictures earlier that made the lumberyard look like it got hit pretty hard. I'm so glad I was wrong! Thank you all so much for your prayers. They did get that blizzard - 8" of snow on top of everything - but it's staying below freezing so it's not melting yet. My mom should be able to go back in the house on Wednesday morning. She can't help with clean-up and if she goes in the basement she'll have to wear a mask. God has been faithful in answering our prayers....He worked several miracles through this situation. All praise and honor and glory to Him!
